SSC CHSL Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for different roles in the SSC CHSL Exam 2024, candidates must meet specific educational qualifications by August 1, 2024. For positions like Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ (excluding certain DEOs in specific Departments/Ministries), a successful completion of the 12th Standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University is mandatory. Moreover, individuals aiming to become Data Entry Operators (DEOs)/DEO Grade ‘A’ at the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and the Ministry of Culture need to have passed the 12th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or its equivalent.
Applicants must fall within the age range of 18 to 27 years, which means those born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2006, are eligible to apply. Furthermore, age relaxation beyond the upper age limit is possible in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations.
SSC CHSL Exam 2024 Salary Package
The SSC CHSL Exam 2024 offers competitive salary packages for different roles as detailed below:
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) falls under Pay Matrix Level-2, with a starting salary of Rs. 19,900. In metropolitan areas, the total remuneration reaches Rs. 37,845.
- Data Entry Operator (DEO) is categorized under Pay Matrix Level-5, with an initial pay of Rs. 29,200. If stationed in major cities, the overall salary rises to Rs. 57,960.
- Data Entry Operator, Grade A, is positioned in Pay Matrix Level-4, with a base salary of Rs. 25,500. In metropolitan cities, the total compensation adds up to Rs. 51,300.
